Use of AI is allowed, but limited. It is forbidden to post a work of fiction that was completely written by artificial intelligence. However, you may use an AI tool to assist you with your writing. Our aim is to promote literacy through creative writing and the expression of creative imagination, using fanfiction of STAR WARS or STAR TREK as our medium. And to build a friendly place for fans to socialize.
On these message boards you can post your fanfiction of either Star Wars or Star Trek. You also have the option to submit a short fanfic for audio production consideration on the Holonet Audio podcast.
We do not guarantee that any work of fanfiction submitted onto these forums will end up on the podcast. However, these forums were created in the hope that you can 1) share your work with ease, and 2) have a chance to possibly have your work turned into a professional-sounding audio presentation, and 3) meet likeminded people and make new friends!
The following rules apply for any fanfic posted on these forums, for HoloNet Audio podcast consideration or otherwise:
- All work (for audio consideration or not) must be family-friendly (PG or PG-13, no usage of vulgar language), and minimal violence (no gore).
- For audio consideration, the final fanfic work must be less than 3,000 words. This can be very challenging for writers, but we feel it is a challenge that may be worth undertaking for serious fans and writers. It also makes audio production simpler in terms of turnaround time.
Fanfiction not to be considered for audio production can be any length (no word limit).
- For all fanfiction submitted onto these forums, the "family-friendly" rule applies. Since 2010, HoloNet Audio (previously Dark Empire Radio) has prided itself on fan audio that can be listened-to by adults and kids alike.
- We are now also welcoming fellow podcasters and voice over personalities in the Community section of the forum. You can now request short voice clips for your own podcast or audiofic project.
